My Thoughts
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Unfair & Lovely is a short read that tackles about colorism. I love the idea. As a Filipino I can somehow relate to the story.
I love the writing style. It’s simple, straight to the point, and just my style. Plus it’s a short read! I think I finished this in just 30 minutes.
The characters are okay too. I love her sister, Surabhi! She is sweet! Sahana is a lovely girl, but sometimes she has that little attitude. But it’s fine because I think it’s the frustration she is feeling. Her mom is an awesome mom. She is supportive and caring.
I also love the illustrations! So beautiful! Kudos to the illustrator as well! I am an artist myself and it’s my dream to have my illustrations on a book!
I would definitely recommend this to everyone. It’s an amazing book! Kids and adults can definitely relate to the story.
My Rating: 4.5/5
